Pastors Bruce and Tavier Parks started Revival House Church through God’s direction on September 13, 1998 in a clubhouse in northwest Houston with 7 people.
God made the church a family before He made them a church. On September 10th, 1998, just 3 days before their opening service, Pastor Bruce and Lady Tavier’s only son was stricken with leukemia. Sitting in the darkened hospital room that night after hearing the doctor’s devastating words, Pastor Bruce lifted 2-year old Cody’s frail and weakened body before the Lord.
“Lord, what should we do? We believe with all our heart that you told us to start this church. But here we are in the hospital.
Are we to open this church on Sunday or take care of our child?”
And the Lord’s words were gentle and clear… “Do both.”
For over a year, Cody fought for his life at Texas Children’s Hospital in downtown Houston with Lady Tavier constantly by his side. Pastor Bruce worked full time, led Men’s Group each Thursday night and had a powerful message from the Lord every Sunday morning. He spent every possible moment at the hospital, daring to believe God at His word – that they could “do both”.
In March of 2000, the church moved to their present building at 2560 Old Louetta Loop in Spring, Texas. God blessed the purchase of the building and the 14.5 acres of land on which it sits in March of 2001.
And Cody? He’s now a bright, healthy, CANCER-FREE freshman in college!
God, in His sovereignty, used the difficulties of this small beginning to make this church a family. Come and join us for a service and you’ll see the difference. Come, be a part of our church family.
